Kim: 'I was in a deep crisis'

Swinging hips, luscious pouting lips, long blonde manes: when this type crosses the street, everyone turns towards her and lick their lips, guaranteed.
With her song "Love blonde" Kim Wilde mocks these stereotypes: "It's a cliche", she laughs.
According to Kim blondes don't always have to be stupid and sexy. She thinks people who let themselves be led by the exterior are dumb.
She herself is in reality not blonde, but a brunette. She has simply coloured her hair.
Since her school days she has the same friends. And since one year she has a steady boyfriend, Gary.
Despite her ambigious lyric Kim is fully hoping for "Love blonde" to be a success. The nine months of pause after the relative failure of "Child come away" were difficult for her.
While father Marty and brother Ricky were writing songs, which were all discarded as too weak for a single, she was very nervous. "I was in a deep crisis", she admits.
She didn't know what to do with herself, felt herself useless, has no confdence anymore are was starting to doubt her show talent.
Against the will of her father she enrolled in the Londoner Erhard-seminar, where one learns to solve one's own mental problems.
Besides that she went on a strict diet: today she weighs only 55 kilo at 1m70 height...
Her LP "Catch as catch can" will be released in October. Besides that she plans an expanded European tour; in November she will stand on German stages.
The rumours about her film plans she has disclaimed: Kim would play the friend of an ex-worldcup winning motorracer Barry Sheene in a film about his life.
