Review – Close

Like already happened with the predecessors this fourth album by Kim Wilde is a family affair. Kim’s brother Ricky produced “Close” together with Tony Swain, he played the keyboards and computer and cowrote nine out of ten songs together with Kim and father Marty Wilde. Musically the Wildes are still making danceable popsongs without depth. That is not very original and also not new, but of course Kim Wilde, unlike many of her female colleagues has a good voice. That distinguishes “Close” from many other pop productions. Despite this, a little more courage to experiment the Wilde clan could certainly use.
