The checkout at Tesco seemed a world away for the West End's newest stage star Paul Keating as he celebrated after the first night of the rock musical Tommy with co-star Kim Wilde. The 19-year-old former supermarket worker won critical praise for his powerful debut in the 2,5 million pound production's lead role.
At a glittering after-show party, Paul's verdict on his performance was more down-to-earth. 'It could have gone better', he said.
