She seems more at home these days with a pot of marigolds than a microphone. But 41-year-old Kim Wilde – pictured inset enjoying her new career in gardening – hasn’t completely forsaken her other roots. Yesterday, the one-time pop princess was transformed from mud-spattered earth mother to Fifties glamourpuss when she appeared as Doris Day (above) on Celebrity Stars In Their Eyes. ‘She looked fantastic and performed really well’, said a Granada spokesman. The show will be screened on Saturday although what Miss Wilde sings is being kept secret.
