Beer festival takes flying start with Kim Wilde

The Adriaen Brouwer Beer Festival took off with a flying start yesterday. Raymond van het Groenewoud, who has grown tired to scream ‘Flanders on top’, kept to an intimate set, which was quite tasteful for the audience. But it became really sultry in the crowded market square when Kim Wilde appeared on stage around 11pm.

Nostalgia from the eighties, but the now 54-year-old British got the crowd on their feet effortlessly.

Today, Kid Creole & The Coconuts are headlining. The program for playing Oudenaarde includes the groups Ratsjenko, Lais and Horny Horses. After midnight, the music of DJ Daddy Cool, Praga Khan and DJ Drezz / Les Mecs.

Sunday Gilles Simoens opens the schlager afternoon, which also include Paul Severs, Marina Wally, Father Abraham, Kate Lyan (Leentje), Swoop and The Romeo’s.
