Review – Here come the aliens

Pure pleasure

At 57 years she isn’t young anymore, but the British singer Kim Wilde proves that she is still in touch with current trends on her new album ‘Here come the aliens’. Her poppy songs from yesteryear (‘Kids in America’, ‘View from a bridge’) have been replaced by swinging rock compositions and beautiful (piano)ballads on her first cd in five years. Listen to the dramatic ‘Solstice’, the pumping ‘1969’ and the bubblegum pop song ‘Pop Don’t Stop’. Because the blonde star, who celebrated her highest highs in the Eighties, didn’t forget about that craft. A record that oozes pleasure and craftsmanship.
