New single: 'Ever fallen in love'

February 2, 2012 - On February 24, Sony Music in Germany will release the third single from Kim Wilde's latest album, 'Snapshots'. It is her cover of the Buzzcocks' 'Ever fallen in love'.

The single features two tracks: 'Ever fallen in love' and the previously unreleased cover of 'Spirit in the sky', originally recorded by Norman Greenbaum in 1969.

Just like the previous single 'To France', this single will be available as a digital download only. Links will be posted here on Wilde Life as soon as they become available.

Free Kim Wilde track for Zeeman customers

January 24, 2012 - There are already loads of compilation albums featuring early Kim Wilde tracks, but a special cd was released for Zeeman shops in Europe.

The Zeeman shops offer a free compilation cd with purchases totalling over 15 euros until January 28. The cd features 10 tracks, one of which is Kim Wilde's 'Kids in America'. The cd was made by Sony Music, with some tracks licensed from EMI.

New compilation cd out next month

January 16, 2012 - A new compilation double cd is released in the UK next month, featuring old and more recent material from Kim Wilde.

Released by Music Club Deluxe, the double cd set seems to collect tracks from EMI, both from the period 1981-1983 and 2006, when Kim released 'Never say never', also on EMI. Among the 33 tracks you can find all of the early singles plus four tracks from 'Never say never', including the single version of 'Baby obey me' with Ill Inspecta. Rare tracks included are the early B-sides 'Shane' and 'Boys' and the rare track 'Bitter is better'.

Kim Wilde on Status Quo live cd

December 16, 2011 - Throughout this month, Kim is touring across the UK together with Status Quo and Roy Wood. A live recording of one of the gigs has been released on cd.

The release of the double cd of Status Quo's performance at London's O2 Arena on Sunday December 11 was announced on the Status Quo website this week. Although the double cd features only the Quo performance, the last track on the double cd release is 'Winter wonderland/Santa Claus is coming to town', performed together with Kim and Roy.

The album is available on CD with a special colour gatefold sleeve or as a download. Get this exclusive limited edition release now!

New single 'To France' out now

December 3, 2011 - The second single from Kim Wilde's latest album 'Snapshots' was released in Germany yesterday: a special Christmas version of 'To France'.

The remix was created by Ricky Wilde, who added jingle bells and various other sound effects to the song. The single also includes the album version of 'To France' and two versions of a remix of 'It's alright' by Groove Coverage: the edit and the full length version.

The single can be downloaded from Amazon Germany and iTunes Germany.

'Snapshots' released in Denmark

November 27, 2011 - Tomorrow sees the release of 'Snapshots' in Denmark. The cd will be available in all good Danish record shops.

Danish distributor Black Pelican is supporting the release of the album with TV adverts, as you can see here on the right (click on the large thumbnail). The album will be available as a cd and as a digital download. Links for Danish fans will be added below as soon as they are available.

'Come out and play' and 'Snapshots' out in the UK

November 27, 2011 - Kim Wilde's two most recent albums, 'Come out and play' (2010) and 'Snapshots' (2011) are getting a long overdue release in the UK this week.

Both albums are released digitally on November 28, through the usual retailers such as Amazon and iTunes. (Links will be available below as soon as possible.) They are released in time for Kim's tour with Status Quo across the UK in December. It's a chance for UK fans to own the 13 original tracks of last year's album and Kim's covers of 14 songs from the last five decades, released earlier this year in Central Europe.

New single: To France

November 22, 2011 - Last week, Kim's official website kimwilde.com announced that 'To France' would be the second single from 'Snapshots'. Now there's a little more information about this release.

The cover was unveiled today (you can see it here on the right) and the single will feature a special Christmas version of 'To France', created by Ricky Wilde. The single is a download-only release, available from December 9 from German, Swiss and Austrian download stores.

New DVD with old Kim Wilde TV performance

November 10, 2011 - Sony Music in collaboration with ZDF releases a new Christmas DVD on November 18 featuring an old TV performance by Kim Wilde.

The DVD shows material from the ZDF television archives. It features Kim Wilde's December 1982 performance of 'Child come away' in the programme Vorsicht Musik. It has never been released on DVD before.

'Cambodia' is 30 years old: fans remix the track

November 2, 2011 - On November 2, 1981, Kim Wilde released the single 'Cambodia'. On its 30th birthday, fans have created remixes of the track.

The remixes were created to participate in a competition that was organised on the Kim Wilde Forum. Three remixes were entered into the competition and the winner will be announced this weekend.
