If you'd like to congratulate Kim by yourself, the easiest way to do so is via Twitter. Kim has been on it for over a year now, and you can send your congratulations to her account directly: @kimwilde. The front page of kimwilde.com and wilde-life.com have been replaced with a guestbook in which you can leave your message to Kim on this festive day. The messages will be collected all day on November 18, after which the old homepages of both websites will be restored.

Kim is looking forward to another year in which she will do loads of live performances, radio presenting and gardening-related activities. And of course, this website will keep you up to date on all that.

'Make me a song' is a musical about songwriter William Finn. It premiered at the New Players Theatre this week.

On this website, fans had the opportunity to write their best wishes for Kim via the Contact page. Many have done this, and all the wishes were compiled into a booklet, that was given to her personally shortly before the concert in Groningen took place. She was very grateful for all the wishes, touched and amused by the messages contained in the booklet.

During yesterday's Domino Day television interview, she said that she considered a successful new world record her first birthday present. Having had just that, she will fly back to England this morning and be reunited with her family at home.

Kim has a successful year to look back on and hopefully even more success to look forward to! The new single, 'Perfect girl' was just released in several European countries, and a new hit would be a great present. So here you go... buy the new single!

The ceremony was held at the House of Commons in London. Kim Wilde received her award after studying horticulture at Capel Manor college in Enfield and going on to forge a very successful career in gardening design.

Other winners included folk singer Kate Rusby (Barnsley College), actor Sean Bean (Rotherham College) and the Olympic gold medallist sprinter Marlon Devonish (Henley College, Coventry).

In 1960, Kim was born in Chiswick, West London. At 20, she started her highly successful music career, and in her thirties, another successful career in gardening followed, as well as finding a husband and having two children.

Father Marty Wilde will probably not be joining in on the celebrations, as he is playing two concerts in Leeds on that day.

Kim has had a very active and successful year. Not only did she tour, she also recorded a new series of "Garden Invaders" (to be broadcast in early 2002), designed an award-winning garden and recorded a new song, pleasing many of her fans to no end.
