November 3, 1998 - Are you tired yet? Dutch EMI-label Disky has decided to re-release both their compilation albums "The best of Kim Wilde" and "More of the best" in a two-CD set imaginatively called "Collection".

An Australian double CD with the same title was released around the same time, containing the elusive B-side tracks "Just another guy" and "Back street driver". The Disky "Collection" does not contain either of them, although you will find "Shane" on this set. Unfortunately, Disky is again using the same masters, so some of the "Catch as catch can" tracks still sound mutilated. The up side is that the sleeve and discs have been attractively designed.

EMI UK has made it clear that they won't be doing any remasters of Kim Wilde tracks in the near future, as their "Greatest Hits" package "The gold collection" is still a good seller. It is sad that even EMI is letting commercial reasons prevail over artistic quality. They used to be one of the best record companies around...
