Anything but Marty: the results!
The results were first handed to Kim and Hal in a special card on October 30th, 1997, through Kim's manager Nick Boyles. Now, you can read them as well. Just turn to the Anything but Marty page for more information.
It is now apparent that no-one has guessed the name that was now given to the boy. Perhaps Kim and Hal used the results of "Anything but Marty" to decide which names they would not use?
Anything but Marty was the name of a survey held at The Ultimate Kim Wilde Internet Experience from June to September 1997. Its goal: to provide Kim and Hal with an alternative for the ever so popular name "Marty" in the Smith family.
When I set up the page, I provided visitors with a few examples: I thought appropriate names for a boy would be: Hal (named after... guess who), Joey (after Joyce), Rick (after Ricki) and Tommy (after the musical - this one was also raised by a British rag), and for a girl: Janine (after the song of the same name), Marcy (a derivation of Marty...), Marilyn (after miss Monroe), and Roxanne (named after... guess who).
There was little consensus among fans, and so the list below is an overview of their creativity. Meanwhile, we can only wait for the child to be born and hear what the couple has decided. Will one of these names be used? Only time will tell!

Halina Brodny: TOMMY !!!! - (after the musical where Kim and Hal met !). I think, it is the best name for Kim and Hal's son. / Joyce (after Kim's mother). There is Marty 1, 2, 3 and also should be Joyce 2. Or eventually: Marilyn. It also is a great name
