Dimestars are coming!

Dimestars is the name of the four piece band fronted by Roxanne. The other members are guitarist Morgan, Tom Hanna on bass and Joe Holweger on drums. Their music is described as "new wave/pop" by record company Polydor. Their debut single is called "Solo so long" and will be released on October 30, exactly four years and one month after the release of Kim's last single, "Shame". The single will include cover versions of 80's classics "Pretty in Pink" (originally performed by Psychedelic Furs) and "Echo beach" (originally performed by Martha & the Muffins). An excerpt of the video for "Solo so long" can be seen at the website of the UK music channel The Box.

Before that, the band will do a live gig at the Camden Palace in London on Tuesday, October 24th, 2000 as part of their FeetFirst Student Night.

According to a short interview on the site of the UK magazine NME, Roxanne admitted she was nervous following in Kim's footsteps, but said the label's grooming school helped: "We have been really nervous about meeting the media and have just had some training in interview techniques."

A website on Dimestars has already been launched by the record company on www.dimestars.com, although there isn't much information on it (yet).
