Disky releases 19th EMI compilation

Although Kim Wilde has only recorded three albums for EMI records during her four year alliance with this record company, EMI and its affilliates continue to churn out new compilation albums. The latest compilation released this month by Disky in the Netherlands is called "Best of the 80's", and is presumably part of a series of compilations from various EMI artists who were famous in this most glamorous of decades.

This compilation is yet another repackaging of a compilation entitled "The Gold collection" (or "Greatest hits") which was first released in June 1996 by EMI in the UK. Disky had already repackaged this compilation in July 1996 when it released "The best of Kim Wilde", but now "Best of the 80's" seems to have come in place of this one.

Apart from the cover, there is nothing new to report on the compilation: "Wendy Sadd" is still called "Wendy Said" and Cambodia-Reprise" still omits the vocal version that was a single hit in late 1981.
Disky's next compilation may well be a repackaging of "More of the best". We'll wait impatiently - not.

Of course, all of the information on this new compilation can be seen in the discography.
