Kim leaves pop business

""
April 19, 2000 - A recent article in the magazine Seven days, released last Sunday with the Sunday Mail, features Kim Wilde speaking out for the first time what many fans have been dreading for some time: she has actually left the pop business.

"Having a pop career tends to keep you away from people who you love. I am not really into that. I am a real hands-on mum and I intend to be the one who picks them up and takes them to school. It is a practical decision as well as a personal one", says Kim in this article.

This means that the album she recorded, which was finished in 1999, and featuring a guest appearance by Nick Beggs (formerly of Kajagoogoo), will probably never see the light of day. There is no comment from Kim's management at this time, but of course I will keep you posted on any developments.

Right now, public appearances by Kim will probably be limited to a new series of the ITV programme "Better Gardens", which will return to UK TV screens later this year.
