Kim in tears after sterling performance
The sold out concert was organised to raise money for the Village Fun Day, to be held this summer. Many people from Kim's village were present, but also a few Kim Wilde fans from Holland, Germany and elsewhere in England.
Kim took to the stage in the second part of Fabba's performance, singing three songs. Her presence was greeted with a great deal of enthusiasm. After singing "The name of the game", "Rage to love" and "You keep me hangin' on", Kim went offstage with tears in her eyes, clearly touched by the abundance of warmth and affection that could be felt in the theatre.
The encore was rocking, with Kim giving her all in a storming rendition of "Kids in America" and, after a few thank-you's and goodbyes, an acapella version of "Thank you for the music" by Kim and Fabba.
After the concert, Kim remarked that she thoroughly enjoyed this gig, but also remarked that her passion for singing and her passion for gardening were at a same level: "When I drink a glass of champagne, I really like it, but when I'm drinking a glass of wine, I love that too. And it's not like I miss the one when I'm drinking the other".
When it comes to performing live again, the motto should be 'never say never', but if and when that happens is totally unknown right now. Fortunately, this "first time out" in years was a success. Another glass, Kim?
