'Born to be wild' competition winners

""
October 26, 2002 - During October, KimWilde.com ran a competition about Kim's new single, "Born to be wild". The question in this competition was, What did you do to help the sales of the new single? Response has been good, although it must be noted that Kim Wilde fans aren't as outrageous as KimWilde.com had hoped. No-one went to the wholesalers to take over the whole stock, and no-one raided their local radio station.

Still, there are five winners, as promised. The first winner is Thomas Schanz from Germany, who played the single repeatedly in the record shop where he works. Conny Reinhard, also from Germany, who played the track at a party in Germany and told the audience to buy it.

But there were also some efforts outside of Germany, which made us decide to hand out some prizes there too. Lee Williamson from the UK asks, "What haven't I done should be the question". After driving his friends mad, contacting local and national radio shows and mentioning the single on various web forums, I can think of a few things, but still, he's the third winner in this competition!

Tero Paloniemi from Finland has combined his favourite artist with work and wrote a few articles about Kim in the magazine he works for. We're not sure if this helps the sales of "Born to be wild" a lot, but it was original enough to award a prize to.

Finally, we had to hand out one consolation prize. Betina Andersen from Denmark tried may things to get "Born to be wild" sold in her country. She tried the local record dealer, Danish radio, and even the record company in Denmark, but no luck. Well, at least she gets her own copy now!

A lot of people made a lot of effort to get "Born to be wild" out of the record shops and into people's homes. To those who didn't win we want to say a big 'thank you', to those who did, congratulations! The CDsingles, courtesy of Edel Germany, are coming your way.
