Rare promo 7" for "Dancing in the dark" unearthed
January 3, 2002 - It doesn't happen very often that a rare item pops up, but when it does, it's always a surprise. Australian fan Eugene sent me a scan of what looks like a very rare issue of Dancing in the dark.
This particular 7" single was released as a promotional disc. Most of the promotional 7" records of Dancing in the dark were issued with a standard RAK sleeve. This one, however, is housed in a picture sleeve similar to the one of The very best of Kim Wilde, a compilation album released by RAK in 1984. According to Eugene, this is probably rarer than the promo 7" of Ego, also released to promote that compilation album in Australia.
The item has been added to the worldwide discography of Kim Wilde records on this website.

Also, a small article about it has been included in the March 2002 issue of the UK magazine Record Collector.
It was auctioned at Ebay.com in March, but only managed to fetch $76.
