Fan dinner in London, 16 December 2004
It was a really diverse group of people in the restaurant. There were people from six different countries present. James had come all the way from New York, USA; Karl from France; Roberto, Karin and Yvonne from Germany; Tim from Denmark; Maxim, Andy and his wife Denise from the UK and finally Marcel and his sister Margriet from the Netherlands. There were two more guests from Denmark, Anders and Mette, but unfortunately they were delayed.
The dinner was due to start at 5.30 pm, but soon after everyone had arrived the first thing that happened was the arrival of Kim and her manager Nick. There were some really surprised face at this dinner table! Kim proceeded to sit at one end of the table, next to Denise, and talked for a while with the people around her. Meanwhile, Marcel had a chat with Nick right in the middle of the scene.
After a short while Kim went to the other end of the table, next to Margriet and talked for some time with Yvonne, Roberto and everyone else there. Quite a few questions were flying around. Of course Kim was asked about a possible new album, to which she replied that it is still in the cards, but nothing definite yet. She also talked about Roxanne, who is working on a debut solo album herself. Ricki is actually working with her on some of the material.
Kim also talked for a while about a photo shoot back in 1992, when she spotted one of her favourite pictures of herself on a t-shirt. She tried on various different kinds of jewellery, and she actually enjoyed that photo shoot a lot.
Kim stayed and chatted with everyone for some time, it was a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere where one might have expected total mayhem!
When Kim and Nick announced that they would have to leave in order to prepare for the upcoming gig, there was just some time to make some group pictures. Denise, Karin and Nick did the honours on several different cameras. Some of those pictures will hopefully be seen on this page soon!
Kim left at 6.15 pm, leaving the group to eat a fabulous dinner in the restaurant until 7.15 pm, when it was time to go to the concert and have a great evening. A special night which left everyone with their own personal recollections!
Personal reports
James has already written a small report of the dinner over on KimWildeTV, part of which I will cite here: "Me & Karl arrived around 5:45, we all sat on a long table, started to order drinks [...] when all of a sudden I see handsome Nick Boyles coming towards our table and behind him this beautiful blond girl -- well my heart started to beat Fast [...] and I heard soft voice [saying] "Helloooo Everyone, are you having a good time?". What a SURPRISE that was, the table was long with 12-15 people. Kim sat right in front of me, well never [having] met Kim in my life here I am sitting right across her and she is smiling and asking me where are you from? I said, NYC, she said 'All the way from the States? Wow, wish I can be now in NYC, it's a great city". Well of course fans started to compliment her [...]. I just looked at her and said 'Kim I have to tell you, you're the most beautiful pop star in the world'. She looked at me with little surprised face and said 'Ohhh thank you'. She was wearing almost no makeup just a little lip glow. Very much like a star you could feel her mesmerizing presence."
