During a radio programme presented by Anita Anand on BBC Radio 5, on 17 March 2005 from 10pm to 1am, Kim Wilde was one of the panellists commenting on the news.
The three hour programme covered a range of subjects. First of all, there was some discussion about the Irish McCartney sisters visiting George W. Bush. Kim confessed not to be up on the political side of the story. "If it was my brother [...] I think I would have the same tenacity to bring justice to whoever killed my brother."

After coverage of Michael Jackson's trial in the USA, Kim was obviously interviewed about her 1988 tour with him. Kim said that she never really got to meet him. " Touring with Michael Jackson was incredible to watch. He was just magic on that tour. I was taken in to have a photograph taken for publicity purposes. A small child was sitting dressed up a bit like him on his dressing room sofa. The atmosphere was odd. [...] I didn't really expect to spend a lot of time getting to know him. If it was Madonna it would probably be the same way. So you can't really criticize him on that score. It's a bizarre world when you're that famous. I didn't take it as being particularly odd or strange at the time, but clearly something's very sadly wrong."

When discussing the dilemma of whether or not to return extra change given in shops, Kim confessed to once walking out of Tesco, totally forgetting the toilet rolls hanging from the back of her cart. "I did think about going back, but it was raining. I didn't quite make it back." After owning up she said "I'm just imagining Tesco's banning me from their stores now..."

Kim was also interviewed twice. In the first hour, she talked about her new gardening book, 'Gardening for children'. In the last hour, she looked back on 'Celebrity detox' as a result of a listener asking about it by means of a text message. "I actually didn't find it as difficult as I thought it was going to be", she said, "it was quite an interesting experience. [...] I felt so relaxed and happy. I really loved it."
In between all of this, Kim also participated in a round of air guitar playing, reportedly having "the right look on her face".

The BBC members of staff, it was reported a few times on the radio, were all very excited about Kim visiting the programme.
