Top Ten albums (in no particular order)
Tom Waits and Crystal Gayle - One From The Heart OST
A fantastic film and, arguably, an even stronger soundtrack
New Boots and Panties - Ian Dury & The Blockheads
Hit me with your rhythm stick! Original and unique 1980's pop music with attitude
Sheer Heart Attack - Queen
Takes me back to the 70's - more recently it reminds me of head-banging sessions on long journeys between gigs on the Here & Now Tours. Brian May is the only one i'll air guitar to.
A Capella -Todd Rundgren
This reminds me of recording in LA. A studio on Santa Monica Blvd, a hired convertible, all night burger joints, Venice Beach, Hollywood Hills and Angelina posters everywhere
Poses - Rufus Wainright
A new acquisition. I heard him sing on Frank Skinner and was sold
On and On - Jack Johnson
A friend brought this album to our summer party. It was played continuously the next day whilst we cleared up, with dreadful hangovers. This album - and bloody marys - made the task bearable
Pet Sounds - Beach Boys
The first album my Dad sat me down and made me listen to. It still sounds as fresh today
The Hissing of Summer Lawns - Joni Mitchell
Takes me back to days of sitting in my bedroom, nothing but my tiny record player and a supply of vinyl to keep me company. A must-listen for any aspiring female singer-songwriters
Paul and Linda Macartney - Ram
Just romantic and charming
Whats the 4-11 - Mary J Blige
This is the album I sing along to in my car - it gets me through the school run. She's one funky lady
