Kim receives education award

June 20, 2006 - The Association of Colleges organised an awards ceremony on June 14, 2006. Gold Awards were presented to former college students who have gone on to great things. Among them was Kim Wilde.

The ceremony was held at the House of Commons in London. Kim Wilde received her award after studying horticulture at Capel Manor college in Enfield and going on to forge a very successful career in gardening design.

Other winners included folk singer Kate Rusby (Barnsley College), actor Sean Bean (Rotherham College) and the Olympic gold medallist sprinter Marlon Devonish (Henley College, Coventry).

Kim said: "I am delighted to receive an AoC Gold Award which gives me the opportunity to recognise and publicly thank the college and the many inspiring tutors there for their support."
