Snow Patrol's Ricky Wilde cover out in October
The UK group Belle and Sebastian have compiled a special cd with several bands performing children songs. Entitled 'The Colours Are Brighter', all proceeds of the album will go to the Save The Children charity.
As previously reported on kimwilde.com, Snow Patrol's frontman Gary Lightbody decided to cover a track by Kim Wilde's brother, Ricky, called 'I Am An Astronaut', released as a single in 1972 (see image on the right). He said: "It has the line 'I am a polar bear' in it so I guess it's appropriate - not that I'm actually a polar bear."
Polar Bear was the band's original name before they changed it to Snow Patrol.
