Kim to judge sensory gardens
United Response provides a range of services for people with learning disabilities or mental health needs. The competition is part of the sensory gardens appeal. Many of the people supported by United Response have spent a large part of their lives living in big institutions, with little or no stimulation. Sensory gardens allow them to interact and engage with their environment through sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. This can transform their quality of life.
Kim Wilde says: "It's an important cause, aiming to raise money for sensory gardens which are proven to stimulate the senses of people with learning disabilities and bring new colour and energy into their lives. That's why I'm proud to be involved."
