Kim Wilde as seen in Saudi Arabia
October 24, 2007 - Saudi Arabian tapes of Kim Wilde's 1982 album 'Select' had a very different sleeve, it was discovered recently.
A rare copy of the - probably illegal - release was sold on eBay recently. The sleeve, shown here, shows Kim Wilde wearing a sweater. Closer inspection reveals that the local censors have used pens to cover up Kim's skin below the neckline. The procedure is very common in the middle east, but a bit weird for the rest of the world - and Kim Wilde fans! - to see.
It's also interesting to note that the sequence of the tracks on the tape is different: side 1 contains View from a bridge / Just a feeling / Ego / Words fell down / Chaos at the airport, and side 2 contains Take me tonight / Can you come over / Wendy Sadd / Cambodia - Reprise / Action city.
The item has been added to the worldwide discography, on the Select page.
