On January 16, 2001, Kim Wilde went to Aarschot, Belgium, to collect a plane tree, measuring 18,5 metres in height and weighing 7 tons. It was transported to Winwick, where it was planted. The transplantation ended up in the Guinness Book of Records. The tree replaced a tower that was demolished in 2000. On Thursday, the plane tree was destroyed in the storm. It is unknown at this time if the damage can be repaired.
