Wilde Life mixtape July edition

""
July 10, 2008 - Every month Wilde Life presents a mixtape of Kim Wilde-related music. It's a collection of old favourites and new discoveries.

The Wilde Life mixtape consists of twelve tracks that are streamed online. You can only listen to them, you cannot download them (don't ask...), but if at all possible, you can buy the tracks!

A small selection of this month's track listing is also available as Wilde Life Muxtape July 2008 on iTunes.

This month's selection consists of the following tracks:

Lost without you - Kim Wilde

An extract from Kim's latest album 'Never say never', this is a sweeping ballad with emotive vocals.

Ghosts - Colin Vearncombe

Great song written by Colin Vearncombe and Gary Clark. The imagery is vivid, the music is highly emotional.

Kim Wilde - Charlotte Hatherley

Ex-Ash guitarist salutes Kim Wilde with this rock anthem. It was her ticket to a duet with the woman she named this song after.

Dead man walking - David Bowie

1997 track from the man who has become a living music legend. Kim toured with him in 1990, when he had almost dried up creatively. Fortunately he found his juice again.

The presence of other - Howard Jones

Fellow Here & Now artist Howard Jones released his album 'Revolution of the heart' last year, with this great electronic track.

Friday night kids (Junior Jack radio edit) - Major Boys

Interesting remix track containing a sample of Kim's famous debut single, 'Kids in America'.

When you walk in the room (Almighty mix) - Agnetha Fältskog

Remix version of this cover of a Paul Carrack track. Kim wanted to be Agnetha when she was a child; on this occasion they could have done equally well.

All I see - Kylie Minogue

An acoustic version, released on the web last month, contained Roxanne Wilde on backing vocals. The original song, though lacking Roxanne, is nice too.

LDN - Lily Allen

Song about Kim's city of birth by last year's big discovery.

Cambodia - My Enemy

Cover version of Kim Wilde's song by this Swedish independent band.

My superstar - Dimestars

Second single by Roxanne Wilde's band Dimestars. Unfortunately it was also their last.

Goodbye - Ulrich Schnauss

Electronic music never sounded so good.
