Kim's European tour: a triumph
German newspapers had nothing but praise for Kim and her band. In a review of the first gig in Munich, the Süddeutsche Zeitung wrote: 'The fact that the whole never really comes into nostalgic waters lies on the one hand to the well rehearsed band, but still more because of an obviously lighthearted, well presented Kim, who is at ease with her age and her image'. (Read it here.)
The next concert in Mannheim is reviewed by the Mannheimer Morgen: 'The Capitol in Mannheim, almost sold out, is jubilant right at the beginning of the nearly two hour show, and one has to look twice to believe the energy and enthusiasm that has become so rare during concerts these days.' (Read it here.)
The Allgemeine Zeitung reviewed the concert in Mainz: 'It was certain that they would get their fans hopping with their classics, but the remaining repertoire caused excessive uncontrolled wriggle in the cosy world of sound good-humor-rock music.' (Read it here.)
Outside of Germany, there is a lack of interest from the 'old' media, but several bloggers have reviewed Kim's concerts there. The concert in Paradiso, Amsterdam was reviewed on bebelizzz.blogspot.com: 'The audience came for the tracks they knew and got much more than that. (...) A diva without pretences and with the warmest smile I have seen on stage in a long time.' (Read it here.)
It is likely that more reviews will be published soon. To read translations of these reviews, check back on the Articles (2009) page.
