Celebrities wish Kim Wilde a happy birthday

November 18, 2010 - A handful of celebrities have sent their birthday wishes to Kim Wilde on her 50th birthday. You can see them here, exclusively on Wilde Life.

Today, Kim Wilde celebrates her 50th birthday. By publishing these video messages, a virtual celebration is taking place, with participants from all over Europe. To see the videos, click on the large images on the right.

So who are these people, and what have they done during Kim's career?

Video 1: Richard Blanshard

Saxophone player during Kim's 'Another step' tour and photographer of the accompanying tour programme. Currently also a successful film director.

Video 2: David Fountain

David Fountain worked with Kim on several gardening projects. They transplanted a huge plane tree from Belgium to the UK in 2001, and designed a couple of award-winning gardens together. Check out www.davidfdesigns.com for more info on his current projects.

Video 3: Howard Jones

Howard Jones made a name for himself in the Eighties with hits like 'What is love', 'Like to get to know you well', 'Things can only get better' and 'No one is to blame'. Video 4: Nik Kershaw

Nik Kershaw is another big name from the Eighties, hitting the top 3 in the UK with 'Wouldn't it be good', 'I won't let the sun go down on me' and 'The riddle'. Video 5: Richard Lucas

Richard Lucas worked with Kim on several gardening projects. Their biggest achievement together was winning three awards at the 2005 RHS Chelsea Flower Show with their 'Cumbrian Fellside Garden'. Back in 2003, Kim and Toby presented an eight part series called 'Great Garden Guide' together on ITV (UK). Toby Musgrave is one of the UK's leading authorities in garden history and design. Check out tobymusgrave.mono.net for more info on his current projects.

Kim's indispensible sound guy and director of the movie 'Shoot the DJ' in which Kim appears briefly too.

Video 9: Sabrina Winter & Katrien Vercaigne

Sabrina started out as a Kim Wilde fan in the Eighties, but a friendship grew between the two. In 2006, she joined Kim on stage as a backing singer and in 2007 she opened her concerts in Germany during the second leg of the Perfect Girl tour with her band Stereoblonde. Katrien (who hides behind the camera) is Wilde Life's resident photographer and has worked with Kim numerous times over the past seven years.

Video 10: Ricky Wilde

Well, who needs to introduce Ricky? It's Kim's brother of course, who has been an integral part of Kim's music career over the past 30 years. And who could forget his own hit, 'I am an astronaut'....?
