'Come out and play' in at 10!

""
September 6, 2010 - Kim Wilde's latest album 'Come out and play' has reached the German albums chart. In its first week, it has entered the chart at number 10!

This is an amazing result, as 'Come out and play' is the first album by Kim to reach the top 10 in Germany since 'Close' (which peaked at number 10 in 1988). The albums chart isn't actually published until this Friday, but usually chart data is known some dates before actual publication.

In Switzerland, the album will reportedly enter the charts at number 9. The last time Kim reached the top 10 with an album in Switzerland was in 1992, with 'Love is'.

Chart data from other countries isn't available yet, but it looks like the album will do well elsewhere too: in France, 'Come out and play' was a top 5 album in the iTunes chart during the first week of its (digital) release.

Kim herself has actually commented on this via her Twitteraccount: 'Come Out and Play debuts in German chart at 10! FANTASTICHE! Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen, sooooooo delighted! There's life in the old girl yet : )'
