Kim Wilde returns to Emmen in 2011

""
December 3, 2010 - Kim Wilde will return to Emmen next year, as one of the acts on the Retropop festival. The festival takes place on June 18, 2011, but ticket sales start tomorrow.

Kim played in Emmen on June 13, 2009 as the festival's headliner. Back then, the festival was called 'Back to the 80s', but in an attempt to reach a broader audience, the festival was renamed 'Retropop' for this year's edition. In 2011 the organisers celebrate the tenth edition with a few acts that have performed previously in Emmen, along with some new names.

Other artists during the festival will be Dutch singer Anouk and Dutch band Het Goede Doel ('The Good Cause'). Other names will be announced soon on the Retropop website.

Ticket sales start tomorrow as a result of a tax increase. The Dutch government has recently declared all stage performances and culture 'unnecessary' and so the tax on tickets will go from 6% to 19% as of January 1. You can order tickets from the Retropop website, on this page.
