Kim Wilde rocks the Audley End House
Kim played a short set featuring a selection of her biggest hits plus a cover of the Erasure classic 'A little respect' (full setlist here). Having come back from her holiday at Center Parcs in the Netherlands, Kim was raring to go. The beautiful summer weather was 'very unenglish' according to some visitors but made for an ideal setting to enjoy this great performance.
The Audley End House is situated just south of Cambridge in Saffron Walden, at the edge of Audley park. It was an ideal environment to set up a picnic concert. Visitors brought their own food and drinks and enjoyed the music played by the best of the 80's artists.
Carol Decker did a fine job warming up the crowd with her classic songs 'Heart & Soul' and 'China in your hand'. Howard Jones followed with the best of his Eighties hits. Although his voice seemed a bit raspy, he still managed to play a beautiful set. Rick Astley was this concert's headliner and took the audience back to 1987, when his biggest hits 'Never gonna give you up', 'Together forever' and 'When I fall in love' were huge hits. The audience lapped it all up.
The concert finished with a wonderful fireworks display. After this, a long line of cars with happy visitors in them left the scene.
