Plastic Bertrand: 'I did not sing Ça plane pour moi'

""
July 29, 2010 - The song Ça plane pour moi, covered by Kim Wilde during her live concerts over the last two years, was not originally sung by Plastic Bertrand. He admitted this in an interview with the newspaper Le Soir in Belgium.

It was revealed earlier this week that the song was sung by producer Lou Deprijck. The punk track was a worldwide hit in 1977. In 2006, Plastic Bertrand actually won a lawsuit against Deprijck, who wanted to acquire the rights tot the song.

According to a report, Deprijck turns out to have sung all the tracks on Plastic Bertrand\'s first four albums. 'I am the victim here', Bertrand maintains in the interview in Le Soir. 'I wanted to sing, but he didn't admit me into the studio. He give me a half percent of the rights in return for my silence, and promised to record new versions with my voice on them, which of course never happened.'

As it stands, Plastic Bertrand has become a one hit wonder without even one hit performed by himself.
