Rewind Australia cancelled

""
October 17, 2011 - The Australian Rewind Festival, which was due to take place on October 29 & 30, has been cancelled by the local promoter. As a result, Kim Wilde won't be visiting Australia as planned.

There was a certain amount of confusion surrounding the Australian Rewind Festival recently. Originally scheduled to be staged at the Blue Scope Fields in Kembla Grange near Wollongong as a two-day camping festival, the festival was moved to Sydney's Hordern Pavilion. A few of the acts such as Human League, Kool and the Gang, Sister Sledge and Candi Staton were cancelled as well.

There is some confusion as to why the festival was cancelled. Some sources say that ticket sales were disappointing but there is no official confirmation of that rumour. A full statement will be released soon on the official Rewind Australia website.

Of course this is a disappointment for Australian Kim Wilde fans and we're very sorry that this is happening. Tickets will be refunded and hopefully a new opportunity to visit with you down under will present itself at some point.
