What a difference a year made for Kim

A year ago, beautiful Kim wilde was miles away from the world of hit records, Top of the Pops, fame and acclaim.

“I was studying art and design at a college in St. Albans ,although I always intended to get into pop music, explained Kim, after a hectic record-signing session at the Music Box in Blyth Market Place.

Kim is the daughter of former pop idol Marty Wilde and his contacts were a help. “A few years ago my father made a demo of some songs, and Jonathan King and Mickie Most, two record producers were very interested. The record deal with RAK Records followed soon after”, added Kim.

Her rapid rise to fame was spurred on by the video explosion. “We got a very big reaction to the video for “Kids in America” in countries like Sweden, Germany and France.”

At the moment, Kim has no plans to tour the country, since she wants to wait until she’s totally in charge of herself and her image.

While we were at the shop, Kim found out that one of her records had taken yet another leap up the charts. Tired as she was, she could still smile at the sweet taste of success.
