Kim Wilde has been launched as Rock’s answer to Marilyn Monroe. Is it because she builds a lot of her career on the look? But Kim, the daughter of old rocker Marty Wilde, is an O.K. rocker even though she will never be in class with people like Janis Joplin and Bessie Smith. The company, however, places a maximum emphasis on her, but rockers who first and foremost score on the look do not last long. Here, however, she has a lot of good material to work on, songs like ‘Cambodia’, ‘View From The Bridge’ and ‘Take Me Tonight’ are well above the usual pop cut. Should be tried.
