Budding superstar Kim Wilde hits Bournemouth on Sunday, midway through her first British tour. But being on the road is no surprise for the 21-year-old from Chiswick. For Kim went on tour with her rock’n’roller father Marty at the age of 16 and sang backing vocals. Three years later Kim was helping out brother Ricky in a recording studio – the result was Kids in America.
That sold a million and was followed by hits Chequered Love, Water On Glass, Cambodia and View From A Bridge, along with chart-topping albums Kim Wilde and Select.
But the big test for the former art school student is solo live work – and judging by reports already received from elsewhere, things auger well.
