The pop world’s bombshell Kim Wilde will be opening WGC’s Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Autumn Fayre on September 3.
This year’s fayre promises to be a bonanza event in keeping with the 20th anniversary of the hospital’s opening. After the opening ceremony at 2pm the Band of the Irish Guards will strike up for their first performance of the day. Biondini the escapologist will be making two sensational ‘get-aways’ during the afternoon. One will feature his spectacular escape from a fire-filled cage.
Welwyn Hatfield MP Christopher Murphy will judge a fancy dress competition at 3.15 pm. Huge inflatable dummies – otherwise known as the Cumberland Giants – will be staging ‘wrestling’ contests. Apart from all the ususal attractions and sideshows the Red Devils parachute team will also be dropping in during the afternoon. The fayre closes at 6.30pm with a grand raffle draw.
