Reading man Peter Johnson recorded a donation to charity when he bought a gold disc originally awarded to pop singer Kim wilde. He bid £60 for the disc in Capital Radio’s fund-raising auction in aid of it’s Help a London Child charity.

The auction was part of an Easter weekend event which raised a total of £144,000. The money will go to children’s charityies, homes and hospitals.

Peter, of Merryfield Close, Reading, was part of what Capital described as a magnificent response. “We’re over the moon at the way it went”, they said.
