It’s Mel and Kim as you’ve never seen them before.
No, not that Mel and Kim. This duo aren’t disco dollies but the unlikely pairing of funnyman Mel Smith and Kim Wilde.
We caught the odd couple on the set of the hilarious video for their Christmas single Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, released next Monday.
Mel and Kim’s song, in aid of Comic Relief, takes us roaring back to the Fifties with Kim, 27, playing a virginal Doris Day and Mel, 34, as a nerdy Teddy Boy.
And Curiosity Killed The Cat turn up too. Ben Volpeliere-Pierrot, Migi Drummond, Julian Godfrey and Nick Thorp play angelic cowboys.
Kim told me exclusively last night: “It was the funniest video I’ve ever made. I’d never met Mel before the single but from the moment we met he had me in stitches. We really hit it off.”
