A lady who introduces herself to estate agents as Miss Smith has been house-hunting in Hertfordshire. And she has fallen in love with a most unusual residence.
It is an ancient barn once owned by King Henry VIII’s surgeon. “I love the place”, the lady said reaching for her chequebook. The price of £200,000 didn’t worry her. Nor did the fact that she will have to spend another £200,000, converting the 16th Century barn into a five-bedroomed house.
No one knows who Miss Smith is, but everyone says she looks remarkably like Kim Wilde.
