German schlagers, chansons and recent hits: the “Gala Evening of Records”, which will be broadcast live today from the Kurhaus in Baden-Baden, provides a wild selection of evergreens and young artists.

Caterina Valente, who will present the programme, will introduce amongst others: Shirley Bassey (who will also perform live at the Austria-Center in Vienna this Monday), Kim Wilde, Paul Anka, Inner Circle, Chris Rea, the duo Charles & Eddie (“Would I lie to you”), Nina Hagen and Udo Lindenberg (the newest duo in the German music scene), Angelo Branduardi and the Danish singer Gitte Haenning.
The singer Nemorin, hailing from Mauritius is also expected with excitement, her songs contain many traditional Mauritian elements.
