Kim Wilde, who has become the most successful British female artist of all time, has announced two Queensland concert dates. Wilde brings her show to Seagulls Rugby League Club, the Gold Goast, on February 22 and to Brisbane’s Festival Hall on February 23. Wilde became an overnight success in 1981 when she burst on to the pop music charts with her first single ‘Kids in America’ which reached no. 2 around the world.
Tickets for the Brisbane show are available at Festival Hall and for the Gold Coast show at Ticketworld and Seagulls. Both shows cost $25.
Since 1981, Wilde has released nine albums and 26 singles, and has sold more than six million albums and 11 milion singles worldwide. Wilde’s The Hits Concert is part of the Teenage Rampage promotion, which is aimed at bringing teenagers a series of no alcohol shows. A seven piece band will join Wilde on stage. The band includes Ricki Wilde, Kim’s brother. Wilde has just finished dates in France and will play in Japan before heading for Australia.
