Pop princess Kim Wilde, who is performing her first concert tour of Australia, is preparing to buy property here. Wilde, 30, who stormed the charts when she was 18 with her hit ‘Kids in America’, said she wanted to invest in real estate Down Under.
On arrival at Coolangatta airport, Queensland, this week, Wilde said: ‘I really haven’t had much of a chance to look around during the tour but I’m coming back for a two-week holiday after a gig in Bangkok, so I’ll probably have a look then.’
She has visited Australia eight times in 12 years on promotional visits but has never performed for her antipodean cousins. She plays at Wollongong Waves on Friday, at Australia’s Wonderland on Saturday and at the Newcastle Workers’ Club on Sunday.
