Sexy singer Kim Wilde married musical actor Hal Fowler yesterday and declared: “I can’t wait to be a mum. We’re going to try for a child this week.”
Kim – 35-year-old daughter of Sixties pop star Marty – met 28-year-old Hal in January. Both are in the rock opera, Tommy, at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre.
Yesterday, outside the churh of St. Giles at Codicote, Herts, a happy Kim said: ‘We want to be parents and we are not going to waste any time.’

She had arrived at church with dad Marty in a black carriage, drawn by two white horses. Her three bridesmaids included sister Roxanne, 17 – who sang a love ballad, ‘So wide awake’, during the hour-long service.It was written by Marty and Kim’s brother, Ricki.
After giving Kim a 60-second kiss as they left the church, Hal said: ‘I am the luckiest man alive. I was petrified but now I feel wonderful.’ His new father-in-law, Marty who was with wife Joyce, said :’I think I was more nervous than Hal, but he is a great guy.’
The newlyweds were congratulated by a crowd of local villagers after the service, which was conducted by the Rev Jim Smith. Then the 150 wedding guests, including composer Sir Tim Rice, celebrated at a £20,000 reception in Marty’s palatial home at the nearby village of Tewin. NOT invited was Kim’s ex-boyfriend, Radio 1 DJ Chris Evans. Hal and Kim were planning to celebrate their honeymoon abroad but are staying in Britain so that Kim can promote her new single, ‘Shane’.Her previous hits include ‘Kids in America’ and ‘Chequered love’. In Tommy, she plays Tommy’s mum and Hal plays Cousin Kevin. The showbiz couple became engaged after a pilot pal of Hal flew them to France for a day. Over lunch in Calais, Hal popped the question and presented blonde Kim with a platinum engagement ring.
Hal has previously appeared in the musical Sweeney Todd and the West End play Leonardo.
