Pop group Let Loose have gone crazy for Newcastle’s newest – and Britain’s first – radio pub.
The trio, who have set the charts alight with hits like Crazy For You and Seventeen, had a sneak preview of the new bar, FMs, next to Grey’s Monument, at a special VIP do before it opened to the public yesterday.
And the band gave the pub the definite thumbs-up as they browsed around its collection of pop memorabilia and its fully-equipped radio studio.
Local radio station Metro Fm, has started doing selected broadcasts from the bar, which also has items like Kim Wilde’s denim jacket, guitars once owned by Bruce Springsteen and Jimi Hendrix and Johnny Rotten’s jumper on display. FMs opens at 8am, closing at 11pm – but there are plans to turn it into a 24-hour barwhen licensing laws change.
