Pop star Kim Wilde was last night celebrating her marriage to the actor she fell in love with while they were both appearing in a London musical. Kim, 35, wed 28-year-old Hal Fowler at her village church, St Giles, in Codicote, The couple met in January when they began rehearsals for the rock musical Tommy at Londonās Shaftesbury Theatre.
Kim, daughter of 50s pop idol Marty Wilde – real name Reg Smith – arrived at the picturesque village church in a horse-drawn carriage. She chose traditional white, while the groom opted for a top hat and tails.
A capacity congregation of 150 invited guests attended the the village church in Codicote yesterday wedding, described one family friend as āa lovely ceremonyā. A crowd of about 200 wellwishers gathered outside as the newlyweds emerged to pose for waiting press photographers. The happy couple then left in the horse-drawn carriage, but later switched over to a white open-top Land Rover bedecked with white ribbons and greenery.
The reception took place at Kimās motherās house at Queen Hoo Lane, Tewin, Hertfordshire. A statement issued on behalf of the couple before the wedding said they declined ānumerousā cash offers from magazines wanting to exclusively cover the ceremony. The happy couple are understood to be going on honeymoon somewhere in Britain before Kim returns to the production.
