Singer Kim Wilde has got engaged to a co-star from the hit musical Tommy, it was revealed yesterday.
Hal Fowler, 28, proposed to Kim, 35, after flying her to France on a private jet.
They were taking a break from the London show, in its third month. She plays Tommy’s mother, Mrs. Walker, and Hal is Cousin Kevin.
A spokesman for the couple said they were “extraordinarily happy and very much in love”. No wedding date has been set but it’s thought they’ll marry soon.
Kim, daughter of rock ‘n’ roll star Marty, had hits with Kids in America and You Keep Me Hangin’ On.
She recently said she yearned to settle down and have a family but had given up looking for Mr Right after a string of broken romances, including a three-month fling with Radio 1 DJ Chris Evans.
