One of the best things about this tour – apart, of course, from having some of my favourite 1980s acts in one place – is seeing how they’ve aged. While Nick Heyward is definitely greying, Ben Volpierre from Curiosity Killed The Cat hardly looks a day older, complete with his trademark beret.
Kim Wilde looks fantastic at 40, with newly-dyed blonde hair and leather trousers. Go West, Heaven 17 and Paul Young ran around the stage as if the last 20 years hadn’t happened.
The performers were obviously having as big a blast as the audience, who were on their feet and dancing from the start. We never sat down as hit followed hit – and we remembered all the words!
It was just like being back at the school disco, only 10 times better. I can’t wait for next April’s Here and Now tour, which will include the likes of Adam Ant and Toyah.
