Garden designer Kim Wilde celebrated winning a gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show with a glass of champagne. The former pop star, now the face of Wyevale Garden Centres, won the award for Best Courtyard Garden in her debut at the prestigious event. She was also presented with a bouquet of sweet pea flowers, named in her honour.
Kim said: “I’m absolutely delighted with my achievement. I visit the show every year and it really is a dream come true for me to have won gold for my first show garden here.” Her Cumbrian Fellside Garden was created with designer Richard Lucas and sponsored by Wyevale.
Head of marketing at Wyevale, Steve Hougham, said: “Kim’s unswerving support has been critical throughout our latest expansion programme which saw the launch of eight redeveloped garden centres. In addition, Kim has fronted our national advertising campaign as well as offering inspirational gardening advice to Wyevale customers.”
