Visitors to this year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show will get the chance to rub shoulders with pop superstar turned celebrity garden designer Kim Wilde.
Following a pop career that spanned two decades, the “Kids in America” singer turned her hand to horticulture and now splits her time between stage and garden.
Flower show organisers say they are “delighted” with the news that Kim will be coming to Shrewsbury, spending two days mixing with and talking to visitors.
Voted best female singer at the Brit Awards in 1983, the daughter of 60s pop idol Marty Wilde had a string of hits throughout the 1980s.
Wilde is also designing a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show in May. This year’s Flower Show runs over the weekend of August 12 and 13.
