The singer-turned-gardener Kim Wilde, flush from winning her first gold medal at the Chelsea Flower Show with her Cumbrian Fellside Garden, spoke to her daughter, Rose, 5, for the first time in a fortnight yesterday.
Ms Wilde said: “I said, ‘Do you want to come and see Mummy’s garden?’.” The answer was emphatic. Wilde said: “She said no. She was more interested in it being ‘only one more sleep till Mummy comes home’.”
